Financial Management

Teens learn the basics of finances, including setting up short- and long-term financial goals, developing a budget, managing money, and working with banks and credit institutions (best practices). These very interactive class sessions allow students to dive into their personal experience and help them to develop good financial life skills. Various guest speakers from local banks and businesses are invited to enrich the students’ experience during this class.

Anger Management

This curriculum-based program explores the cause and effect of anger. Lessons lead the participant through a journey of discovery of themselves, their family, and others, while providing the skills and techniques needed to control anger and use it in a constructive and creative manner. Students will learn how to let go of the negative feelings and refocus on the positive emotions.

Substance Abuse (Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series)

This is a curriculum-based, self-help, recovery, and educational program. Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series (A.C.T.S.) is designed to help a young person and their family deal with the problems associated with alcohol and chemical abuses.
A.C.T.S. offers a holistic approach encompassing emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects.
Knowledge obtained through A.C.T.S. works to heal the pain of dysfunctional relationships associated with alcohol and chemical abuse.
Visual illustrations enhance the structure of the lesson and historical applications. They also enhance the participant’s understanding of the lesson. As a result, the teen will be able to relate these lessons to problem areas of their own lives and build needed problem-solving skills.

Computer Literacy

Students learn how to use a personal computer, including basic computer operations like saving files, organizing folders, working with pictures, and Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and Power Point, to be ready for college or a corporate job. Students also learn how to communicate via email, do research, and evaluate resources available online.

Career Development

Students explore personal interests, values, and abilities and learn how to develop a career plan with short- and long-term goals. Students also learn how to research information on careers and employers and how to develop and improve resumes. Various guest speakers are invited from colleges and businesses to encourage students to pursue their career goals.
