Financial Management

Financial Skills Students learn the basics of finances including setting up short- and long-term financial goals, developing a budget, managing money, work with banks and credit institutions (best practices). Various guest speakers from local banks and businesses are invited to enrich the student's experience during this class.

* Financial Skills curriculum incorporates Federal MoneySmart educational modules.

Anger Management (A.M.)
This curriculum-based program explores the cause and effect of anger. Lessons lead the participant through a journey of discovery of themselves, their family, and others, while providing the skills and techniques needed to control anger and use it in a constructive and creative manner. Students will learn on how to let go of the negative feelings and refocus on the positive emotions.

Substance Abuse (Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series)

This is a curriculum-based, self-help, recovery and educational program. Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series (A.C.T.S.) is designed to help a young person and their family deal with the problems associated with alcohol and chemical abuses.

A.C.T.S. offers a holistic approach encompassing Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual aspects.

Knowledge obtained through A.C.T.S. works to heal the pain of dysfunctional relationships associated with alcohol & chemical abuses.

Visual illustrations enhance the structure of the lesson and historical applications. They also enhance the participant's understanding of the lesson. As a result, the teen will be able to relate these lessons to problem areas of their own lives and build needed problem solving skills.

Computer Literacy

Students learn how to use a personal computer including basic computer operations like saving files, organizing folders, working with pictures, Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and Power Point to be ready for college or a corporate job. Students also learn how to communicate via e-mail, do a research and evaluate resources available online.

Career Development

Students explore personal interests, values, and abilities and learn how to develop a career plan with short and long-term goals. Students also learn how to research information on careers and employers, how to develop and improve Resume. Various guest speakers are invited from colleges and businesses to encourage students pursue their career goals.

* After Care

All through the year youth will have an opportunity to integrate into healthy society through participation in specially designed youth activities and mentoring sessions.
