As a part of the Life Skills Workshop we offer following classes targeted to prepare youth for the challenges of their future adult's life: |
|
Students learn the basics of finances including setting up short- and long-term financial goals, developing a budget, managing money, work with banks and credit institutions (best practices). Various guest speakers from local banks and businesses are invited to enrich the student's experience during this class.
* Financial Skills curriculum incorporates Federal MoneySmart educational modules.
A.C.T.S. offers a holistic approach encompassing Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual aspects.
Knowledge obtained through A.C.T.S. works to heal the pain of dysfunctional relationships associated with alcohol & chemical abuses.
Visual illustrations enhance the structure of the lesson and historical applications. They also enhance the participant's understanding of the lesson. As a result, the teen will be able to relate these lessons to problem areas of their own lives and build needed problem solving skills.
Students learn how to use a personal computer including basic computer operations like saving files, organizing folders, working with pictures, Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and Power Point to be ready for college or a corporate job. Students also learn how to communicate via e-mail, do a research and evaluate resources available online.
* After Care
All through the year youth will have an opportunity to integrate into healthy society through participation in specially designed youth activities and mentoring sessions.
